FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When does the course begin? Can I go at my own pace?
This course will be open for enrolments between Monday 22nd Jan and 3rd feb 2024 (midnight London, GMT). The Early Bird rate will end Tuesday 30th jan (midnight London,GMT)
The course will officially begin Monday 5th February and the course content will be gradually made available over the following 6 weeks so we can work through the course modules and projects together. In order to receive maximum support from Kate and work alongside other participants in the group it is suggested that you follow the course topics as it is laid out over the 6 weeks period. However feel free to complete the course at your own pace. Once you have access to the course content you will be able to re-visit whenever you want, re-play videos on demand, and download files as needed.
How much time will I need to set aside each week for the course?
That is completely up to you and the time you have available. I suggest you set aside 2-3 hours a week to watch video content and complete exercises.  But you may want to spend more time than this each week.
There is probably too much content for you to cover within the 6 weeks, so I have created a lesson on ‘How to make the most of this course’ where I outline different ways you might interact with the content - you will need to choose the right approach for you.
What format is the course?
All course lessons are video tutorials. I’ve also included some additional resources to help you along the way.
What supplies do I need?
For the art exercises in this course you can use any art materials that you have at hand, you don’t need to purchase anything especially.
Do I need any special software to access the course?
The course is hosted on an online website (Teachable). As we go through the lessons I will be introducing you to new software that will aid you in specific areas of an artists business. I will guide you step by step how to access these and use them as we progress. They are all free resources that are widely available.
I’m technophobic! I’m very inexperienced at using technology - is this course right for me?
Yes. This course is designed for people just like you, to help you learn to overcome your nervousness and to show you where to start. I will guide you step-by-step through each lesson and will be available for the 6 weeks to answer any questions. I support you in any way that I can if you get stuck.
How practical is this course?
This course has both an art & business focus but leans more towards the business side. Each module there will be suggested art exercises to try, however these will not be tutorials or step by step guides to using specific techniques and mediums.
I am not in the United Kingdom time zone. Will that matter?
No that’s doesn’t matter. The course videos are all pre-recorded so you can watch them at any time. Time zone differences may mean that some of the live Q&A videos will land at inconvenient times. In an attempt to cater to students in different time zones I will be running the live videos at different times over the 6 weeks so that everyone will (hopefully) be able to catch at least some of the lives. But if you can’t catch a live video you can always watch the replay.
I am not a Facebook user? Will this be a problem if I enrolled in the course?
There is a Facebook group associated with this course to give students extra support and to provide a greater sense of community as we work through the course together. While the Facebook group is a valuable resource it is not necessary to complete the course. All of the information is in the course which in itself is very thorough. The Q & A sessions will be uploaded to this Teachable platform for the 6 week period, so you will be able to access the replays outside of Facebook.
Will our Private Facebook Group last forever?
No. It will be available for 1 week after the end of the 6 week course HOWEVER you will then have the invitation to join a new, longterm Facebook group that is available exclusively to students of my classes. I will give you more details about later.
How long will I have access to the course content?
The course content will be gradually released over the first 6 weeks of the course. After that you will have unlimited ‘lifetime’* access to the entire course content, across any and all devices you own. I guarantee at least 12 months access to the course content.
* for the lifetime of my business and this course provider
What if I can’t commit to completing the course in the 6-week period?
No problem, there is a lot of content, so I am not expecting you will! The aim of this 6 weeks is to get you started with this content and then for you to continue to work on it over the next months. There are no limits on when you need to complete the course by. The course content isn’t going away any time soon so you will have years to work through the course at your own pace if you wish.
What if I fall behind with the course content?
It’s no problem, there is no such thing as ‘behind’ in this course - just celebrating steps forward! You need to move at a pace that suits where you are at in your artist journey. Run in your own lane and don’t worry about what others are doing next to you! You will be able to re-visit the course whenever you want; re-play videos on demand, and re-download files as needed.
I'm not ready to take the course now. When will you be running this course again?
I hope to run this course again this time next year (Feb/March). Future versions of this course may be in a slightly different format and a higher price point.
I am a complete beginner. Can I take this course?
Yes you can and you are very welcome. I will try to explain everything clearly without presuming any previous experience or knowledge, and will guide you step by step.
I am more advanced than a beginner artist. Will I get anything out of the course?
If you have already got started along the journey of being an artist you may find some of the course content familiar. I will be addressing the basics of each subject and not looking at more advanced elements, however there will still be plenty of ground covered. It is up to you to decide if this course is right for you. If you are uncertain you could always give it a try for the 14 day trial period.
I plan to create a similar 6 week course in the future for intermediate level support, please contact me if you would be interested in receiving updates about this.
What if I am unhappy with the course?
I don't want you to be unhappy! If you are unsatisfied with the course for any reason, send me an email at [email protected] within 2 weeks (14 days) of the course starting. You will receive your complete refund. no questions asked.

What others are saying about Kate's teaching...

“I now have confidence in myself as an artist because of the encouragement of a community of fellow artists. I found connecting with people such an uplifting aspect of the course and always came away beaming from our times together. I’m more ready to launch myself as a professional artist than I was at the start and now have a useful toolkit to follow and look back on. Kate Green has jam packed the course full of interesting and useful activities and information. She has a lovely warm open manner about her. It’s been rewarding, good value for money and a very worthwhile journey to go on”. Alli Morton, Stirling, Scotland.

What others are saying about Kate's teaching

“The biggest thing I have gained from the course is a new confidence and freedom in my art practice and many new connections with practising artists. A fantastic, dense, stimulating experience. I will definitely continue studying with Kate given the opportunity and would very highly recommend her courses to others”. Emma Pilkington, London, UK

“I loved engaging with a community of other artists at similar stages in their journey and I love Kate's approach to teaching, she is engaging and encouraging. When I started the course I found the thought of developing a social media presence daunting, by the time I had finished I had set up an instagram account, a facebook page, and had begun engaging meaningfully with my audience. I even created a 31 Day Social Media Challenge which I never would have dreamed of doing before! I always ended each week having learnt so much and feeling so uplifted and encouraged. This course was just what I needed to help kickstart my creative business”. Jo Greenfield, Cambridge, UK

“I would definitely recommend the course. I loved the encouragement to do daily journalling, and the business skills were really helpful. It was lovely to connect with other artists too. I really enjoyed the course with Kate she's an amazing inspiration and so approachable, she walks you through all the way, she pours her heart and soul, and all she knows into you”. Louise Marie Jones, West Sussex UK

“Kate laid out a clear pathway for developing an art business and I discovered how regular journalling can help with getting out of periods of creative block. I'm really glad Kate put this course together. As a complete beginner to art it's given me confidence and a clear pathway to follow as I make progress in my journey”. Sereena Assih, Bedfordshire, UK
